FAQs

Q. How can I volunteer with Ascentria?
A. You can check out the specific opportunities listed by the Ascentria programs in your state. If you are intersted in volunteering with us simply complete the Volunteer Inquiry Form and we will follow up with you within a few days.

Q. What if I would like more information about volunteering with Ascentria?
A. For general questions you can call the Ascentria Volunteer Manager at 774.243.3938 or email the Ascentria Volunteer Manager.

Q. What types of volunteer opportunities are available at Ascentria?
A. There are a variety of service opportunities throughout the New England states. They include one time opportunities, on-going projects, group projects, individual opportunities, internships, providing needed goods and services, serving on advisory boards, fund raising, advocacy work and more. Descriptions of specific opportunities are listed by state.

Q. What will I have to do in order to volunteer?
A. Once you and a staff member have identified an opportunity that fulfills your desire to serve, you'll be asked to schedule an interview and complete an application form. If the assignment involves working with clients, personnel files, case records, or other sensitive organizational information you will also be asked to consent to a background check. If the assignment involves driving, you will be asked to provide proof of auto insurance and consent to a motor vehicle driving record check.

Q. What if I don't find a volunteer opportunity listed in my community?
A. Ascentria does not have services in every community. If you don't happen to live near an Ascentria site many volunteer projects may be carried out remotely or in your meeting place, business, or home. We are expanding the engagement of volunteers and our needs frequently change. Please check our website on a regular basis!
